Is it just me or do most pharmacists tend to be on the grouchy and ornery side? Is there something about being around all those millions of dollars of drugs that’s depressing or soul-sucking? Is being a pharmacist like being a doctor but without the warm patient-doctor connection? Is it too transactional to allow the joy that comes from caring for another human to be present? Perhaps it’s the fluorescent lighting and the Top 40 music and announcements from above that Safeway, Walgreens, and all other corporations insist on playing just slightly too loud…
